Are you ready for Oracle OpenWorld 2019?

With less than a week to go until Oracle Open World kicks off, I thought I would share with you what you can expect.

Of course the whole Database team will be there and you will have multiple opportunities to meet up with us, in one of our technical sessions, our hands-on-labs or at the Oracle demogrounds.

Below are just some of the session I thought might be interesting to help get you started:

  • Monday, September 16th at 12:15pm 100% Oracle Cloud: Registering 90,000 People for CERN Open Days
Session CON3040 at Moscone West – room 3007A
In this session Eric Grancher and Viktor Kozlovszky explain how CERN used the Oracle Autonomous Database to host the registration application for their open days at CERN (European laboratory for particle physics), which attract tens of thousands of people from countries all across in Europe and beyond.
  • Monday, September 16th at 4:45pm Rethink Database IT with Autonomous Database Dedicated
Session PRO4660 at Moscone South – room 215/216
Juan Loaiza reveals what motivated Oracle to develop Autonomous Database Dedicate and provides a clear understanding of how this cloud services works and how you can expect it to change the wait you interact with the Database.
  • Tuesday, September 17th at 11:15am  Oracle Autonomous Database: Looking Under the Hood
Session TRN4728 at Moscone South – room 215/216
Yasin Baskan will provide an insiders view to the technology underlying Oracle Autonomous Database  and give you a guided tour of getting started with the Oracle Autonomous Database.
  • Tuesday, September 17th at 11:30am Cloud Native Data Management
Session Dev4677 at Moscone South – room 301
What if you didn’t have to worry about how to structure data? What if you could store data in any format, independent of having to know if a cloud service could handle it? What if performance, web-scale, or security concerns no longer held you back when you were writing or deploying apps? Sound like a fantasy? Then come join Gerald Venzl and I as we shows you how to combine the power of microservices with the agility of cloud native data management to make this fantasy a reality.
  • Tuesday, September 17th at 1:30pm Database Trends: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Session GEN4643 at Moscone South – room 207/208
Juan Loaiza will share his candid assessment of the latest database trends including microservices, IoT, Kubernetes, machine learning, blockchain, JSON, big data, cloud, Kafka, autonomous, sharding and lets you know which you should adopt and which you should avoid.
  • Tuesday, September 17th at 2:30pm Oracle Code One Keynote
Session KEY6320 at Moscone North – Hall F
In this years Code One Keynote Todd Sharp, Greg Pavlik and I will explain how a smart app using machine learning and data from multiple sources can help Todd’s 13 year old, recently diagnosed with diabetes, easily calculate her carbohydrate consumption to help her determine her next insulin dose.
